New Zealand’s, Rich Manic, otherwise known as Captain Festus McBoyle, is the full package. He looks like a pirate, he sounds like a pirate, he makes songs like a pirate (and has some super witty, fun, piratey music videos to boot). He’s even got a pirate wife, Lucy, who has fifteen teeth and smells kind of funny, but who he’s head over heals in love with. On his latest offering, Look Wot The Cat Dragged In, Captain and crew bring the kids along for a fresh offering of potty humor, English “whinging,” and songs about the pandemic, sea creatures, and fixing things, creative enough to compete with the highest quality kids’ entertainment out there (a few of which he name drops on the album, for parents and kids alike).
