There is something so fitting (so fantastic and otherworldly and even wonderfully relatable) about a pirate singing kids’ songs. Rich Manic, or Captain Festus McBoyle, a kids’ artist from New Zealand, is fully committed to his ridiculous and entertaining and helpful children’s bit, that feels a bit like the Muppets in its comedic/dramatic magic. It only makes sense that he (and his band of outlaws) should have marionette puppets styled after them.
